Over the past three decades, the Armory has taught art classes to thousands of emerging artists of all ages and cultures. The Art Center has exhibited art in hundreds of shows and given workshops taught by national and international visiting master artists. Additionally, has also provided summer art camp for thousands of youth. Home to artists-in-residents from the United States and abroad, the Armory has provided opportunities for artists to hone their craft. The Armory looks forward to a long future of enhancing artistic life in the Palm Beaches.
Overview
The Armory provides creative art classes for students of all ages and of different levels of experience. Our more than fifty instructors have proven and varied experience and are passionate about bringing art out into the community. Here, students can take advantage of our many diverse art disciplines in our state-of-the-art studios. These studios are located in three campus buildings, each featuring specific types of art classes. More than one hundred classes take place in the following departments: ceramics, digital media, drawing, jewelry, painting, printmaking, textile & fiber, and sculpture. Our Artists-in-Residence program supports the craft of emerging artists and introduces new talent to Palm Beach County residents. Firstly, most courses run for six to eight weeks unless otherwise noted in the course description. Secondly, the Armory offers both single and multi-day workshops in various media throughout the year. Finally, the Armory provides art education for youth in kindergarten through 12th grade. Our dedicated Armory teachers present educational experiences in many methods and styles. In addition, the Armory holds art classes specifically for both middle and high school students who are serious about their craft. Hence, these specialized art classes have helped many students develop their work, thereby preparing them for future auditions.
Educational Programs
We have a a selection of class styles for adults and youth (ages 6-17.). In addition to our standard session schedule, special workshops and camps take place throughout the year.
