Introduction to Welding for Artists
For anybody wanting to learn to weld, here is your chance! This course will teach basic metal working techniques while guiding the students through building a hollow three-dimensional form. Building a hollow body is a basic part of welding and metal fabrication. Start with a cube and try more complex forms with instructor support. A zest for metal sculpture with safety is all you need. Some additional materials may be required. This class is a prerequisite for open studio time in the welding area.
CLASS WILL BE HELD IN THE OUTDOOR SCULPTURE AREA
Masks must be worn at all times on campus and during classes; temperature checks are required before entering class/open studio.
