Bobbin lace is a beautiful technique which holds a lot of potential when worked in wire. We will begin this course with a lecture about the history of gold and silver lace from the Renaissance and Baroque and then go on to learn how to reconstruct some of these antique patterns in wire. Once you are confident with some simple patterns, we will look at how you can include beads or spangles in your lace to add sparkle and we will close with a taste of freehand lace; so, you can create your own unique design. You will also receive a complete set of digital notes in addition to the weekly lessons so you can practice at home.

Please note that this is a virtual class and will be held using Zoom. An instructional welcome email will be sent to you prior to the first day of class.

This course is 7 weeks, no class on 01/07.
