Introduction to Wood Turning
This Class is designed for the beginning wood turner. Students will learn the safe and proper use of wood turning tools such as roughing, bowl and spindle gouges and how to properly sharpen these tools. In the class they will complete several projects such as a tool handle, wooden bowl & platter and a small vase. They will also learn several different finishing methods for their projects. Safety will be stressed throughout the class. Tools, wood for the various projects, face shields and any other equipment needed to make this a safe and enjoyable class will be provided.
CLASS WILL BE HELD IN THE OUTDOOR SCULPTURE AREA
Masks must be worn at all times on campus and during classes; temperature checks are required before entering class/open studio.

Bruce Williams has been an avid wood turner since 2007. He is a member of both the local Palm Beach County Woodturners and the national American Association of Woodturners. During the past 13 years he has taken classes from many of the top national and international wood turning instructors. He has been a demonstrator for the local Palm Beach County Woodturners and has taught their weekly workshop classes for the past several years. He enjoys passing on what he has learned about woodturning to new turners.
