Pattern Making & Draping 101

Learn how clothing is sculpted to fit the body from darts to princess seams. Students will be introduced to the pattern making technique called draping, as well as, flat pattern making. Along the way we will make a pattern and create a garment. A basic understanding of sewing is required.
*No class 11/26 (7 weeks)
Masks must be worn at all times on campus and during classes; temperature checks are required before entering class/open studio.
All students must read and sign the health policy & waiver to attend Session 2 on-campus classes.

Pamela is a designer and a seamstress with a strong interest in education. She does clothing alterations, reupholstery, and makes custom clothing by trade. Pam holds a BFA in Apparel Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. At FIT she studied sewing, draping, patternmaking and fashion illustration. One of her favorite things to do is teach these skills. She started a nonprofit program, Waste Not, a project of Side project inc. The program teaches the true meaning of recycling through projects and discussion. Her motivation to start the program is to create positive change environmentally and socially.
