Art Encounters: Gelli Printmaking
Art Encounters is a series of one-session workshops that offer inspiring, hands-on introductions to a variety of artistic techniques, mediums, and creative processes for people of all experience levels.
Discover the playful and versatile world of Gelli plate printmaking in this hands-on, one-session workshop with Patricia Lappin.
Using a soft gel printing plate, acrylic paints, textures, stencils, and found materials, participants will create a series of unique layered prints full of color, pattern, and experimentation. Learn simple monoprinting techniques while exploring texture, composition, and creative mark-making. No printmaking experience is required—just a willingness to experiment and have fun. Leave with a collection of one-of-a-kind prints and new ideas for incorporating printmaking into your creative practice.

The Armory Art Center campus facilities include three buildings dedicated to art classes, a sculpture garden, and an interior tented courtyard.
The Armory Art Center provides art classes for students of all ages, exhibitions, art salons, lectures, and special events. Nearly 100 courses held in 12 state-of-the-art studios are offered including
- ceramics, photography & digital media, drawing, jewelry, painting, printmaking, textiles & fiber, and sculpture.
- Youth art classes and summer art camps are offered.
- Various exhibitions are hosted throughout the year in three galleries.
- The campus, located at 811 Park Place, West Palm Beach, at the south end of Howard Park, includes three buildings—the two former Palm Beach County National Guard Armory buildings and the Young Artists Studio Facility.
