Jewelry/Enameling Workshop at the Norton
July 8, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Lace was typically made from linen or silk, but it was also made with metallic gold & silver threads! The finest lace involved the skills of many artists. This course will cover basic enameling techniques of sifting & stencil with powered glass & torch firing/fusing to this to copper. Students will have the opportunity to use lace templates inspired by the Portrait of Judith Van Langley by Jan Van Ravensteyn or create other delicate patterns in the enamel to leave with a beautiful neck pendant or charm.
