Radiant Nation: Masks
November 4, 2022 - 10:00 am to December 16, 2022 - 4:00 pm

Exhibition Dates: November 4 – December 16, 2022
EAST GALLERY
Radiant Nation: Masks is a collection of reimagined radiotherapy masks, transformed by artists into vibrant, powerful forms of expression. By utilizing different mixed media techniques, these artists imagine unique, thoughtful concepts and attitudes to depict life changing events.
This exhibition is inspired by artist and cancer survivor David Charlowe. In 2019, after surviving a bout with cancer, he asked several artists to repurpose almost two dozen radiation masks. These masks are used by cancer patients receiving radiation treatment around the head and neck area, thus enabling doctors to designate spots to receive radiation. Each repurposed artistic mask symbolizes the fortitude needed to survive radiation and cancer treatments.
Gallery Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 am-4:00 pm | Saturday, 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Galleries are free, and open to the public.
**This exhibition will be CLOSED November 24-27 during the Thanksgiving holiday
