I began my formal art education at Parsons School of Art & Design in NY and years later studied acrylic and watercolor painting with renowned artists at the Woodstock School of Art. My favorite theme for landscapes and seascapes were inspired while living at the Jersey Shore, the Catskill Mountains and the coastal areas of New England. During my travels out west to Arizona and the Navajo Nation, my interest in pottery was awakened.  Mastering the art of throwing clay was not an immediate success for me but I was captivated by the clay and stuck with it. I have been a potter now for over ten years and I find the rewards of throwing clay immeasurable. My encounter with alcohol ink also occurred while out west and I was immediately intrigued by this fluid art, the brilliance of the pigment and its versatility.  Unlike acrylic or watercolor painting, alcohol ink allows for a freedom of expression which I find unique and challenging. I have been practicing as an alcohol ink artist for the past six years and continue to discover new techniques and applications with this exciting medium.
