Mary Carey Murray

Mary Carey Murray is a professional artist and designer with a strong resume of accomplishments. She can’t remember a time when she wasn’t drawing growing up in Buffalo, New York.

Mary graduated college with honors on full scholarships with two degrees – one from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and another from The College of New Rochelle for Fine Art.

She perfected her watercolor techniques, a passion of hers, studying with world famous watercolorist Ward Hooper- becoming an award-winning watercolor painter herself.

Mary has many facets to her long career including graphic & apparel design.
As head designer & art director for a prominent NYC manufacturer, she was head of Charles Schultz “Peanuts” licensed designs for kids where she oversaw a team of designers & successfully freelanced also with a host of major clients in NYC- creating screenprint designs for sportswear distributed under licensing agreements with Disney (101 Dalmatians etc.), Scholastic (Goosebumps etc.), Major League Baseball, Warner Bros. (Looney Tunes etc.), Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Voit Sports, and      Harley Davidson, to name a few.   Her work has won many awards.

While traveling on a sailboat in Europe with her 2 golden retrievers, she created her idea for her “Love a Dog Design” business where she accepts orders for watercolor commissions of people’s favorite pooches, as well as t-shirt designs involving dogs & combined with environmental awareness.

Mary has also written and illustrated several books, classroom materials and her own line of custom greeting cards.

Mary continues to fulfill commissions for Palm Beach & other private clients throughout the country. She is very passionate about her work – donating part of the proceeds to no-kill animal shelters, the A.S.P.C. A., and various rescue organizations.

Among all her artistic & design accomplishments, Mary pours her love of Art into all that she creates!
