A STATE OF BECOMING by Joyce Billet
Stop by the Armory and experience the connection between the natural world and human technology in this exhibition by Joyce Billet.
“At the core of my practice is an exploration of how humanity can grow in harmony with nature while embracing technology. Living plants and wood are integral to my work, introducing growth, transformation, and unpredictability into dialogue with constructed forms. I translate hand-painted gestures through digital and machine-driven processes, creating an exchange between the human hand, technology, and material.
Working primarily with plywood, I create works that move between painting, sculpture, and installation. Through the interplay of organic growth and technological processes, my work explores how natural and human-made forces can shape, transform, and coexist with one another.”
