Aspects of anatomy, proportion, and movement will be discussed along with the development of an Alla Prima technique, which involves both scumbling and glazing. Steven Assael, born in New York City in 1957, is nationally recognized as one of the leading representational figurative artists of this generation. His ennobling and psychologically penetrating portrayal of the human image blends elements of naturalism, romanticism, and the contemporary with the techniques of the old masters.

The Armory Art Center provides art classes for students of all ages, exhibitions, art salons, lectures, and special events. Nearly 100 courses held in 12 state-of-the-art studios are offered including
