Spend the weekend learning how to paint portraits with Gavin Glakas, whose work hangs in the US Capitol, the Virginia State Capital, the CIA, universities, museums and private collections all over the world.
We will focus on all aspects of portraiture from the initial sketch to blocking in the structure, mixing vibrant and believable skin tones, controlling transitions and edges, dealing with details and textures like hair and clothes, and “getting a likeness”, as well as some of the more creative and psychological elements of portraiture. Any medium welcome. For beginning to advanced students.
